California Governor Gavin Newsom unveiled plans for a satirical memecoin dubbed 'Trump Corruption Coin' during appearances on the Pivot podcast and the California Agenda: Sacramento Summit. The token, tied to his 'Campaign for Democracy,' aims to mock President Donald Trump's crypto engagements while fundraising for redistricting and voter outreach.

Newsom framed the MOVE as a critique of what he called the 'absurdity' of crypto maneuvers linked to Trump. 'This is one of the great grifters of our time,' he said, referencing the president's foreign deal-making. The announcement follows weeks of online trolling, including parody merchandise in a MAGA-style 'Patriot Shop.'
